As teachers and school staff have had to adjust to new ways of working during lockdown, we at LGfL have also adapted some of our approaches.
We are delivering online training from the Inspire Team mainly hosted through Google Meets. Bradley’s approach has now been refined to include the use of green screen (see image below) to ensure clear but personable instructions, whilst others in the team toggle between the presentation and the camera to touch base thoughout the training sessions.
These training sessions have been proving very popular with the highest attendance being 75 delegates for a general LGfL session (great for all the new LGfL schools who have recently joined our community from Essex) and with positive feedback on the impact it will have in delegates’ practice going forward.
Visit the training portal (as shown below) to see the wide range of online training on offer to you:
The following sessions are included (click on the links to read the course details and find out dates and times for each):
Many of you will have perhaps been trialling live streaming of lessons or providing a Powerpoint with recorded instructions for pupils to watch at a time convenient to their home context and situation. Some of you may be considering a blended approach now the 1st June has come and gone; perhaps some pupils have remained at home (for all sorts of reasons) or as a school you may not be able to accomodate the whole cohort of your Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 to return to school all in one go. Therefore, we hope our online training will help to alleviate some of the pressures schools are currently facing and help you to provide ongoing learning opportunities for the many pupils remaining at home for the foreseeable time.

We appreciate how difficult the last few months have been and hope that the training so far has provided necessary support to our community. We are interested to find out what you would like to see as a future offer for training. Do get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org.
In these uncertain and constantly evolving times, we do not know for certain what the next academic year’s training programme for our community will look like. It is quite possible that a blended approach, similar to what schools are currently considering with regards to remote learning, may be the approach we take. However, one thing is certain we want to hear from you about what you would like and hope to see and build the programme around your needs.
Remember, if you need any support with our learning content you can contact the Inspire Team by emailing email@example.com or contact the LGfL Switchboard: 020 82 555 555. Also visit coronavirus.lgfl.net which is continually updated with advice and support during the partial school closures.
