How LGfL and Just2easy Support the 2026 DfE White Paper 'Every Child Achieving and Thriving'

Written by Belinda Evans | Jul 9, 2026 10:28:38 AM

The DfE White Paper, 'Every child achieving and thriving' advocates a shift to a broad, inclusive curriculum.

The ambition is to narrow the attainment gap for disadvantaged and working-class students while ensuring those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) are supported within mainstream settings.

''We know that if we build an education system that enables the success of

our most disadvantaged children, we will enable the success of all.'

The 2026 White Paper ' Every child achieving and thriving'

The White Paper calls for a "sophisticated inclusion" model in which SEND support is seamless. Digital tools should be integrated into a broader strategy for school improvement and inclusion, such as using tools like Universal Design for Learning to support students with special needs. Schools are urged to ensure technology becomes a seamless part of the learning environment.

And for LGfL schools, by integrating the tools you already have via our Learning Resources portal and the J2e Toolsuite, this inclusion model can be achieved

Let's look at 3 key aspects of the White Paper and how LGfL and J2e can support them -

  • Giving Every Child A Voice

  • Capturing Evidence Without Creating Extra Work

  • Strengthening Home-School Communication

Giving Every Child A Voice

The White Paper emphasises that children should be active participants in their education rather than "passive recipients of information". The framework places the voices of children at the heart of decision-making, particularly regarding Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Children don't all learn - or communicate - in the same way. Giving children multiple ways to express themselves doesn't just improve engagement; it creates a more inclusive classroom where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

Just2easy was designed with this flexibility in mind. Whether children use images, audio, video, or text, they can demonstrate their understanding in ways that work for them;

  • Audio instructions can support reluctant readers.

  • Visual prompts can help children process information.

  • Multimedia outcomes allow pupils to show what they know without relying solely on writing.

Because these features are built into the J2e platform, teachers can make learning more accessible for everyone without significantly increasing their workload. Strategies designed to support one child often benefit the whole class.

Capturing Evidence Without Creating Extra Work

The White Paper aims to 'capture evidence and feedback without increasing administrative burdens'

Teachers are already collecting valuable evidence every day. This evidence is too often scattered across exercise books, photographs on tablets, or notes written after the lesson. Digital tools can help bring this together naturally.

A piece of work created in Just2easy can be a voice recording explaining a maths strategy, or a short multimedia journal entry can become part of a child's learning journey without requiring teachers to duplicate elsewhere.

Strengthening Home-School Communication

The White Paper identifies strong partnerships between families and schools as critical to a child's success, where parents are active partners in learning.

A digital journal or portfolio gives families a window into classroom life, helping them celebrate achievements and better understand the support their child receives. A short voice recording, a photograph of a project or a simple digital creation can often communicate progress more effectively than a lengthy written summary.

It also means that when conversations about support do take place, teachers already have meaningful examples to hand.

Through the Just2easy Parent Portal, you can create transparency and 2-way communication between teachers, parents and carers.

The Parent Portal creates better continuity, extends teaching outside of the classroom, and strengthens home-school communication
