Healthy Eating Week 12th to 16th June 2023

British Nutrition Foundation (BNF)’s Healthy Eating Week will take place from 12th to 16th June 2023.  Healthy Eating Week is all about supporting and promoting healthier lifestyles and this years’ theme is Healthy Eating Week - For Everyone!

The cost-of-living crisis continues to have an impact on the affordability of healthier diets for so many of us. With this in mind, for Healthy Eating Week 2023 the British Nutrition Foundation are focussing on providing free, evidence-based advice and support for everyone who wants to find their way to eat a healthier diet regardless of these barriers.

LGfL Resources

Switched on Science

There are units linked to healthy eating, food and movement; including lesson plans, teacher guides and videos. Why not explore ‘Who am I?’ with Y1, ‘Healthy Me’ and/or ‘Move it’ with Y2, ‘Food and Our Bodies’ with Y3, ‘Teeth and Eating’ with Y4, ‘Let’s Get Moving’ with Y5 and ‘Staying Alive’ with Y6?

j2e Tool Suite

There are many tools within the j2e tool suite that can be used within Healthy Eating Week (*you will need to be a 'Let's Get Digital subscribing school to access this premium resource).

You could design a poster, complete a survey about favourite healthy breakfasts or even make a short animation to encourage people to stay healthy in JIT. Using j2e5 the children could write up their favourite healthy recipes for a healthy eating cookbook that could be shared with parents, or they could design a poster to encourage children to have their 5 a day. Alternatively, you could make a Healthy Eating Week Tracker and get the pupils to complete these online.

Dominic Traynor (Education Evangelist @Adobe) is running some Adobe Express Live Lessons in May; with some sessions using Healthy Eating Week as the stimulus.  To sign up for free click here.

They have also provided free writing prompts - perfect for using Express Video or Page.  See here for Healthy Eating Week prompt.
